Digital Printing
In 2010, when Mitsubishi Imaging introduced specialty inkjet media
specifically designed for the commercial inkjet market, digital
printing had begun to chart strong growth in Graphic Arts. With
production inkjet expected to grow from 12.4% of the Global Digital
Color Print Volume in 2009 to 37.0% by 2014, it is not surprising that
high end paper manufacturers, such as Mitsubishi Imaging, and
manufacturers of the newest generation of continuous feed, high speed
color inkjet presses have developed a synergistic approach to the
adoption of new paper grades for this fast-growing segment.
Although certification of media is not normally required in the
industrial inkjet segment, Mitsubishi Imaging works closely with inkjet press manufacturers to test Mitsubishi papers on
their devices. Normally there are some inkjet media grades that will
work well across any high-speed inkjet press, but specialized
applications and inks often require specific grades like
Mitsubishi’s in order to optimize the capabilities of the
equipment.
Mitsubishi manufactures numerous coated grades of inkjet media
specifically designed for continuous inkjet presses. Many grades are
offered to the market because the different formulations and
application weights for the ink-receptive coating actually control
critical factors, such as the surface gloss, smoothness, whiteness,
stability and ink absorption of the print medium. Mitsubishi Imaging
offers a variety of weights and surface finishes from 60 gsm to 230
gsm in our high-quality media for industrial inkjet printing.
We help our customer achieve true color reproduction, fast drying time
and high line sharpness for a variety of applications in the
industrial inkjet segment, such as variable data, financial, books,
brochures, print-on-demand, direct mail and more. Our customers see
output that delivers a broad color space, allowing magnificently
brilliant colors, faithful detail and pinpoint precision.
Mitsubishi Imaging has an extensive portfolio of media that meet the
paper needs of the total spectrum of industrial inkjet printing: from
transaction and transpromo to direct mail and print-on-demand. Our
experience in papers and commitment to quality is why customers have
chosen Mitsubishi Imaging’s coated stock inkjet papers for
decades.
